  Earlier this year I visited Hokkaido,.The group that I was part of, visited an area where there was sometimes an owl in a tree hollow.
  We arrived in the early afternoon and were amazed to see the two Ural owls in the image both dozing in the sun
  We observed them for about 20 minutes during which time the most activity we observed was one opening its eyes for a few minutes.
