  • Where was the image taken?
    Island of Hornoya, Norway
  • Story of the image

As I was photographing the Puffins in the snow on the island of Hornoya, I focused on one that was perched at the edge of a crevice. It looked like it might take off at any moment, so with my camera on my tripod, I prepared myself for the moment that it would hopefully fly straight towards me. Indeed, that is exactly what it did do, and I managed to make this image with it in the perfect poisition, and also showing a little wing movement too.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
