The last bustard

The last bustard

  • Where was the image taken?
    Shiraki military airfield, Georgia
  • Story of the image

It is believed that the breeding range of little bustards does not extend into Georgia. However, last year, I discovered an actively displaying male and suspect that he wasn’t only one. I traveled to photograph him every few days. One day, in mid-June, he simply didn’t show up at the displaying point. Whether he managed to attract a female remains unknown to me.
