The Kentish Plover is a small bird that returns to its breeding grounds every spring, which are often beaches at the beginning of the bathing season! Where beaches are cleaned, it finds itself in great difficulty. The eggs are preyed upon, trampled upon or destroyed by mechanical means that level the sand. The young, who immediately follow the adults, have nowhere to hide and are easy prey. Coastal areas and the restoration of dune ecosystems are crucial for the survival of this species.
