While I was exploring the Varanger peninsula, I found a beach near Vardo, where these stunning birds were feeding amongst the rocks. With the low afternoon arctic sun falling on this bird, it's vibrant plumage was glistening. The sea was washing over the rocks behind the bird, and creating a beautiful bokeh through my lens. I spent a few hours just lying on the beach watching and photographing these characterful birds.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
