As dawn broke deep in a Swedish forest, I was lucky enough to photograph this male Capercaillie. I had been photographing at this lek site for a few mornings, but it was only on this particular day that I managed to capture the moment that the sun rose, with the Capercaillie displaying in front of it. I was photographing from my vehicle, parked on a forest track, and spent a few hours there each morning for about a week. It was a fantastic environment in which to see this enigmatic bird.

I live in the UK, but I am an avid explorer and get out in my campervan along roads less travelled, aiming to photograph the wildlife I encounter amidst some of Nature's most environmentally significant and diverse places. From photographing Puffins on a remote, snowy island hundreds of miles above the arctic circle, to photographing Dalmatian Pelicans in one of Europe's premier wetlands, I aim to capture unique and captivating images that inform and inspire.
